Lost Keys to 1982 Corvette
Help Please. Los the key and yes I have no extras. Do I have to take the steering column apart? Called Nat'l Vette Museum with no luck. Dealer in my area cannot help either. Thanks.

I'd suggest a locksmith. The lock can only be removed in the "RUN" position without damage to the column.

Call a locksmith not the museum.

I've been messing around with C-3s forever.
There is a strange penomena that happens with the old non-locking ign switch locks.
they wear out!
My next door neighbor has a 76....he (temporarily) misplaced his keys.
He asked for help. I piddled with it for awhile and then had an epiphany.
I grabbed my keys from my '69 and inserted into '76....It started!
To further make 500,000 people nervous, I grabbed my 1969 Judge keys.....started!
THEN you can take the lock out and have it re-keyed!
good luck that sucks!

You could also pull a door lock and take it to a locksmith for new keys..

I'll place a bet that once you get this fixed, you will have an extra set of keys.
