odd block stamping, any help?
got a friend with a 76 basket case, he was wondering what this block came out of...I think the letters indicate 1975 truck/van/bus...other than that the first set of numbers(and letter) appear to be a VIN, with the last 6 numbers being the sequence of build, but I can't find what the C74 part of that stamping is...any ideas?

I agree the "TYU" is a large truck 350. The "K" indicates the St. Catherines Ontario engine plant. In the VIN stamp, the "C" is Chevrolet truck, the "7" should be 1977, the "4" as the third digit indicates the Scarborough Ontario assembly plant, and the last 6 are the VIN.
