1977 C3 VIN help
I purchased a 1977 C3, it has, or @ least is showing only 47000 miles, which I am inclined to believe as the original leather seats are in very good condition.............
The VIN # is 1Z37L7S427515
the #'s I see on the passenger side front engine block are:
1MO417......then underneath that is:
6H04
Help........I cannot locate this series of #'s anywhere. trying to find out if the original engine is still in the car........
if it is NOT, do you have any idea what engine this could be

Here's a pic of the pad on my 77. This car has the original drivetrain. It looks like yours has been replaced at some point and the stamp could be a rebuilders marks. The casting number would be helpful to determine what engine is in your car.

I have to agree with MelWff, I think it's likely a GM Goodwrench 350 crate engine. Goodwrech 350's are usually stamped something like 1Mxxxxxxx.
"M" is for the Mexico (Toluca??) engine plant, and the block probably has "Hecho en Mexico" cast into it somewhere too.
