Seat harware
I have just bought a 78', but the drivers seat goes all the way back and will not lock in any upright position, is this common? Is there a specific part to fix this,
or does the whole seat have to be removed?

You have to the the seat out. Depending on how rusted the bolts are it could be easy or hard. There are 2 at the front which are usually easy. Then 2 or 4 at back. Once out one runner has the lever. Probably penetrating fluid to free up and then lithium to lubricate. Could be something broken so have a good look.
