Finally got the new carpets installed , even installed a heat barrier under them , took me about 5 hours , bad pics , but they look great .Kick panels are next and a good cleaning of the center console . Park brake console will be repaired,
What is nice about new carpet besides looking great is its SMELLS great too. Old carpet...even clean carpet gets a smell over the years. Also gives you a opportunity to SOUND insulate the floor if you wanted. If you don't want to spend the big bucks ( as I did not ) I used "frost King" from Lowes. Its a sticky closed cell with aluminum foil. MUCH cheaper than DynaMat and such. Easy to apply. If your not too far into final fit, for about $100 you can fully insulate the floor. There is nothing you can do to improve the interior more than new carpets in my opinion. Seat covers next.

My 70 also has a bright blue interior. The carpet was replaced in the past with cut pile, and I'm chomping at the bit to put the correct loop carpet back in it. Which vendor / brand did you go with, and what did you use for insulation? Thanks.
How do you repair the brake console? I assume you are talking about the crack? My wife's 71 has the same crack in brake console.
These rugs look great. Are they original style? My wife has a 71 that has had the carpets replaced before she bought it and they are not this style, they are more cut type of pyle instead of this loop style. I like this look so much better.
I did use the sound deadener , from Home depot , $15 a roll , I used it in my 80 and it works great so I did the 70 , has for the console I do have a crack in it , I'll repair that with fiberglass strands, I'll do it tonight and can take pics to see what I did .Last night I painted the rest of the door trim , more pics to come .
Sorry I forgot about the carpets they came from ACC in Alabama , but ordered, through CCentral, they fit pretty good I only glued a few parts , the kickpanels are a pain .

They look great and I can't wait to see your repair and how you did it.
Thanks Dean , I'm not sure how it will turn out , I have to paint it anyways so I'll try and fix it , there was scratches from the seat belts and it looked old . Pics to come
They look very nice.
Job came out great!
I have the ACC front set to do in my 68. The originals are dry rotted.
Back looks good so I'll leave well enough lone.
I know measure twice cut once. Any other tips for installing the fronts?
Thank you for sharing.

Finally got the park brake console repaired , I fiber glassed it and painted it , I'm pretty happy with it , if you look real hard the last pic you can see a few marks.
