Default after market power window switchs?

i had to buy 2 new aftermarket power window switch's because mine were un-usable or rebuild-able (tried)? anyway the new switch's have longer prongs than normal especially the back corner one thats longer then the other 2? I am inclined to cut the brass prongs down to the same size as the prongs on the old switch, is that what you guys have done?

That is what I did. Though I did find that the quality of the aftermarket switches was poor and I had one fail iinside 200 miles. I ended up buying a used one off a forum member that has lasted years.

It seems that window switches are one of those items that for some reason are at the crappier end of aftermarket parts spectrum.
