I found some recommendations in the NCRS forum to use from 10 to 20 ft-lbs. I went with 10 ft-lbs just to hold it together. I agree with Alan than it doesn't really matter.
Hi guys,
I've been gone for about 4 years and i'm just re-activating my project... rear spring is on my to do list. Can anyone comment real quick on what kind of paint you all used for the leaves?
I used Ace Hardware brand spray paint. Alan has some post on here somewhere with the brand a color he used on his which is pretty darn close to factory, but don't expect him to reply to this post you will have to look it up. Unfortunately he no longer post here at corvetteforum..
I've had the pleasure of restoring 2 leaf springs. The first one I used Eastwood Brake Gray (assembled spring in the picture). The second spring I took some advise from one of our forum members and got Rustoleum Cold Galvanizing paint from the Home Depot (disassembled spring picture).
