I just purchased a corvette from an individual in Ohio and need to have it transported to Georgia. I need your advice on auto transporters. Looking to ship it enclosed. Thanks for your help!
I'm having a '76 shipped in from SoCal to Indy right now as we speak. I'm using Intercity Lines (enclosed) and am very happy with how all is going. Avoid using brokers...you have NO idea who will be handling your car. Intercity own's their own transporters, are insured, and use their own drivers. Heck, if they're good enough for Jay Leno, they're good enough for me!
Contact Jim (Intercity Lines is a forum member too) and he will give you a Corvette Forum rate.
I just sold my 308 and the buyer had it picked up by Intercity Lines. Very impressed with the driver. When I bought it, I used Horseless Carriage to ship it and they did a good job as well.
I would avoid Passport. I had used them in the past and was very pleased but they really let me down the last time I booked them. Missed 2 separate dates to pick up the car. A local dealer in my area helped me out by adding my car to his shipment. As others have said InterCity has a very good reputation.

Back in '12 I used DAS twice. No issues and reasonably priced. Subsequently I got two other quotes from them in '15 and '16 and they were on the high end of the shipping quotes I received. A privateer via Uship gave the best quote recently but I have not used them.

I'm not sure who DAS is. Is a privateer just a local person?
I got three quotes (Passport, Reliable, InterCity) to ship my car from Colorado Springs to Las Vegas. Went with Passport at $200.00 less than the other two quotes. It took about a week for the car to be picked up. Picked up Saturday morning and the car was in my driveway Sunday morning.
The driver was in touch via text every step of the way.
Would use them again!

DAS = Dependable Auto Shippers. They are a broker. You pay a $200 deposit up front, they put your request out for an independent to grab , an independent picks up your job, and you pay the independent the balance in cash at the time of delivery. You will have no idea who the independent is.
Do some research on using brokers before choosing to go the cheapest route. Cheapest isn't always best. I speak from experience.

I used them (Passport) when I had trouble with my car in FL. Took a while to pick up but once picked up, the driver was in constant touch.
I used Intercity years ago to get my '71 from NH out to WA. Took them a few weeks to set up the run with enough cars going all the way across country, but I wasn't in a hurry so that didn't matter to me. Once it was set up, everything went very smoothly and I was quite pleased with their service.
I used Intercity and was more than pleased. My request was unique as I wanted to transport a car back across country (from CA to NC) after a trip along Route 66. Intercity was the only one that agreed to pick it up at a specific time and date. We ended our trip in LA, came back to the hotel, turned the corner and the transport was waiting with the gate down. We loaded it up and flew home. Could not have been smoother and more professional.

I too have used all 3. Reliable seems to be busy hauling factory cars & were slow to pick up. I really like InterCity as they are fast to pick up & deliver. Great drivers also.
i used intercity a few years ago to ship my 69 from california to rhode island. there were fantastic. the drivers were a husband and wife team and they were terrific people. i would not hesitate to use them again.
