C3 Tour through Ireland, May 2017, video and pics
Some of you have followed our past trips through the western states of the US, France and Italy over the past years. 2014 we travelled to the south of England, 2015 to Scotland, so it was pretty obvious that sooner or later, Ireland would be on the list as well. What can I say? What a magical place, especially seen through the windshield of a classic Corvette.
We obviously took a ton of pictures and I'll post a selection here. But I think this 15 minute video captures the trip best. Hope you like it.

The group consisted of three couples from Germany and Switzerland, the cars were two 69 and a 71. We met in Germany, drove through Belgium to the Normandy coast in France. We really appreciated their reserved parking spaces for us
From there we took the Eurotunnel train from Calais to Folkestone, visiting Tom Falconers "Claremeont Corvette" near London. Check out the "Wankel" Corvette, the XP-897. What a cool design.
We were lucky to have met Tom - he helped us out more than once when we had some dreaded breakdowns. We drove more or less clockwise along the coast of Ireland once we got of the ferry in Rosslare. Hotels and B&Bs are great by the way, like this hotel in Killarney were we stayed a few nights exploring Kerry.

Places like this are just unbelievably beautiful. Lauraugh Bridge, somewhere on the road from Killarney to Lamb's Head.
The villages are colorful. We were really lucky with the weather, too. Sunshine almost every single day for at least a few hours.
Gas stations sometimes left something to be desired though .
We had our share of fun encounter, this was one of them: Kate and I drove along Dingle Peninsula and stopped at the famous Inch Beach. You're allowed to drive on that beach, so we did. When we stopped to take some pictures and videos with our drone, a group of women ran up to us. They asked if they could take pictures of the bride to be, lying across the hood of the car! I was so astonished I didn't answer right away and she was getting ready to do it. But I came to my senses and stopped them. They then asked if she could sit in the car instead and the had a blast, while Kate and I were watching.

Further up north are the Cliffs of Moher.
Galway was our next stop and we explored Kylemore Abbey and the national park nearby.
Lighthouses, castles, Ireland is rich with history
For you who watch Game Of Thrones, this should look familiar: This stretch of road is called The Dark Hedges, better known as "Kings Road". It's in Northern Ireland and in the video you can see how we almost crashed our drone trying to fly it under the trees

The Giant Causeway is a famous spot on the coast of Northern Ireland. It looks very much like dinosaurs footsteps.
I know we mistook our Corvettes as Dune Buggies.
We bypassed Belfast and spent two nights in Dublin. Sunshine all day and a great city.
Half Penny Bridge in Dublin
And if you're looking for something to read, astonishing libraries
If you're not into reading, how about staying in a hotel with your own pub?
Guiness, anyone?

On the way back driving through England, we stopped in North Devon to take in the stunning scenery.
Wild ponies in Exmoor
Lynmouth, on the northern Devon coast.
And before you ask, yes, we ate Fish & Chips. Nothing better after a few hundred miles day trip.
Our next stop in England was Stonehenge...
...and Goodwood
