Too much engine bling for me.

Did Brian Grams at Volo tell you that '69 previously belonged to an Apollo astronaut before being screen used by Kirk Douglas in Spartacus?

Volo Auto Museum had it. Its like a chop shop but with looser morals.

I hear they just got in a screen used right hand drive hero 'Back to the Future' Bricklin driven by Michael J Fox in the movie.

lets just say her beauty was only skin deep restoration was done badly and just did not have the pocketbook fix it right. I willing say what I found wrong with it but want to make sure I am not stepping out of bounds here first.

If you do say what you found wrong, you could be helping a potential buyer.

for 44000$ , it should have been in pretty good shape, one would think.

You can make a factual, non-abusive posting detailing the transaction here if you like. It probably belongs in the Transactions Feedback section though.

I am not here to defend Volo but you must always look at a car first that you are going to spend that kind of money on. A few years ago I bought a '69 Chevelle SS396 from Volo. I went to look before completing the purchase. I will say it was exactly as described by the salesman who was named Joey. I was very pleased but I can understand if you didn't see it first and were expecting something you didn't get then you might be disappointed. A note to anyone considering buying a car sight unseen Don't Do It. If you can't go see it get a knowledgeable person to look for you. Sorry for your disappointment. It does sound like they took it back though. In reading your earlier post it didn't sound as much like you didn't care for the car as much as the fact it didn't have air conditioning.

Damn for 44k it should be making you coffee every morning!

Hope you werent out any money, never know what youre getting these days, a properly done piece or a lipstick on a pig resto.

Dont let it sour you on the hobby not everyone is a straight shooter.
You can get a super sweet C3 for half of that?

What is it youre looking for, lots of guys here to help you. Nicest C3s Ive seen up for grabs are here, overall good buys from owners that keep up on them. Once in awhile you see a roach but thats typical of any forum.

It's advertised as having a $70000 restoration. Car should be near perfect.

I don't think the word "restoration" means what Volo thinks it means...

The pics of the '69 don't show a car that has been restored. It shows me a car that has had a bunch of modifications. For that money, I agree, the car should be perfect. Could somebody have put $70k into that car? It's possible, but they for sure didn't restore it. It appears to have a Vortec motor and too many non stock parts to count under the hood. IIRC that's the wrong tach for a 350/350hp.

Alan's car is the definition of "restoration."

That looks more like a used car dealer than a museum.

Volo sells some cars and they also sell under consignment. Sometimes consignments affect how much Volo can deal on stuff.

They usually have a lot of "movie car" type stuff for display.

Alan's car is more like a museum piece. :P
