Default New addition to the family

Well, I think our 79 needed company in the garage. I've been drooling over several of the verts in the 'for sale' section over the last 12 months, so when this one popped up less than two hours from me, I had to go take a look. It checked all of my boxes, except A/C (so it might get a vintage air setup sometime in the future). It only had minor surface rust on the top of the windshield frame, so I'll sand, treat, and paint that as one of my projects.

Drove it almost 200 miles on an 'extended' trip home (a little extra sight seeing). I did notice that the heater core is leaking (appears to have just started), so I'll probably bypass that until I decide on the A/C.

Trace Gordon was an honest seller, and I think he gave me an excellent deal.

I thought about it (would have had much better pictures!), but we took a side-trip to Scotts Valley to show my son the car, and wanted to get back before dark...

LOL - I pulled that on my wife with a Yorkie mix from the shelter. She then reciprocated with a chocolate lab - so we're full up in that category too.

Here's a few more pics of the engine bay and interior. Feel free to point out anything that is obviously not correct for an early 69 (Sept 68) L46 - other than the after-market alarm siren and electric vac pump (it was added to fix a power brake issue, but I'll be posting some questions about that in another thread)

Careful when shutting your hood. Looks like the left side bumper is missing (just behind the pointy striker). You'll want to replace that, especially if your fit is low on that side, or if it rattles to the latch over bumps, etc.

Otherwise, a gorgeous '69! Love the color. I'm intrigued by the non-stock colors that folks choose for re-paints along the way. Also am interested in your aftermarket seat belts. Any info on those?

Nice, welcome to the party. BTW - what kind of seat belts are those?

Seatbelts are Simpsons. Previous owner was a race car driver, and the original belts were shot when he bought it, so he had these installed. Probably overkill for my kind of driving.
