David!
I settled in and read the post front to back so far, seeing things like your frame off gives me massive amounts of motivation to get into mine. I am currently in my first restoration, a 1975 Corvette. I'm a college student and I only get to work on it during the weekends
Although mine is a frame on (limited space and funds, plus the car is in fantastic shape!) seeing cars like yours completely apart is quite the learning experience for me. Thank you for sharing. I've subscribed!

My 77 and your 75 are quite similar so if there is anything I can do to assist you don't hesitate to let me know and I will either assist or find someone that can assist you on your issues. Please do list your home town on your profile when you can, it helps locate folks near you to assist and can be an invaluable help when looking for parts, shipping, hauling stuff, etc. I am located up in Easton, PA at zip code 18045 and have been restoring these cars only since 2006 and many on here have been doing it much, much longer. My 71 Brandshatch Green barn find thread is an example of a long restoration with some twists and turns you don't always see, and don't always cherish having had, but all are part of the learning experience.
Enjoy your car and let me know if I can help.
Best regards,
David Howard

The frame has moved from repair and fabrication to media blasting and powder coating. Changes made were 1) added a removable lower front cross-member plate; 2) straightened front cross member lower plate; 3) beefed up welds on the frame; 4) new #1, #2, #3, and #4 body mounts on both sides; 5) modified manual transmission cross-member to a removable middle section for ease of transmission replacement; 6) new kick-up gussets on both sides; 7) rear access point added for bolt placement at the kick-up.
Once the powder coating shop has media blasted it and powder coated it for me I can bring it home and place it in my center bay and begin building the rolling chassis.
Engine pick-up is Tuesday next, hopefully the frame pick-up will be Wednesday next week making two more items to add to my Thanksgiving Holiday list of what I am thankful for in 2017.
More information and pictures soon.
Best regards and Happy Thanksgiving.

I am awaiting the completion of the 77 frame and as soon as it is ready for me to pick it up I will do so and bring it home, begin the 77 chassis build.
In the meantime I am starting a 78 chassis build to use as a rolling dolly for the 77 body while she is painted.
It is a balancing act for sure but should be worth it in the end.
Hope all are doing well. I'll be back up to speed as soon as I lick this cold.

Talked to Leroy and Eddie yesterday David! They said your frame went to Powdercoat. Going to bring my body up to them in a couple weeks once they get that 62 Tempest out of there. Then will bring my chassis up when it is done. Wish I could get things done at your pace lol! Hope you feel better.

I picked up the finished 77 frame yesterday at my body shop friends in West Virginia and brought it home. It was not a nice trip home as I ran into a snow storm along the way and it slowed me to a crawl and made a mess of the trailer.
Attachment 48235733
Ice down on the bottom is over 5" thick. Need some heat to clear this off, both sides.
Attachment 48235734
I'll get pictures of the frame, it's repairs, and the powder coated products, just as soon as I can get to them through the ice.
Glad to be home safely, it was a bad drive.

Thanks for the reminder of what you deal with while moving at the pace you do.
Always inspiring.
Looking forward to hear the 383 start up.
Merry Christmas to you and Tammy.

This is the modified transmission cross member mount. It is cut out and support rings are welded in place that match the frame members to the removable member.
Here is the removable cross member sitting in line with the frame.
Here the removable member is slid into place where it will be bolted to the frame cross member.
Here is another view of the cross member sitting in the position when it is bolted in place. I have not bolted it in place at this time.
This is the front cross member lower support plate I have used now on three of my builds. It bolts in place below the existing cross member support to offer a jacking point for the front end. This doubles the thickness of the front cross member at the lift point. If this dents you just remove it, straighten it, put it back in place. It protects your original cross member and prevents it from denting.
The powder coating company also did my differential cross member and my gas tank support which I had on the frame.
They also coated my transmission support bracket.
All items came out very nice and I look forward to building this chassis soon.
Thanks for following along.

Before I can get started on the 77 rolling chassis build I want to build this 78 rolling chassis as a body dolly for my 77. It will be used to hold, transport, and paint the 77 body for me.
I have 69 rear trailing arms; 78 front suspension parts; 78 front springs; 69 rear springs; 69 non-posi differential; and four ralley wheels and snow tires.
Yep, looks like I have the makings of a rolling body dolly chassis here and building it will be fun.
And I will begin this project next week.
For now I am going to take the rest of today off, have a beer, watch some football.
I hope you all have a great weekend.

Nice body dolly don't you think? Nice transport dolly too. Love it.
Thanks for the comments.
