What do I replace the factory interior Insulation with?
I ripped up the passenger side carpet and found that the cottage cheese looking insulation is saturated in oil from the air conditioning and/or transmission. I've been scraping the "wet" stuff off but now I'm wondering what to put on there in its' place. Flex Seal? I hear it can withstand temps of 350 degrees.
I used Dynamat, and the new carpet has jute backing.
Big2Bird,
I'm planning to use a foil backed and front insulation under my carpet, I just wondered if I should paint something on there mainly for aesthetics but also a layer of rubber protection between the insulation. I know it will be under insulation and carpet but I thought it would look better when I start assembling the interior back together.

If you want to paint it, look at Lizard Skin.
As for just painting it to paint it, I wouldn't bother under Dynamat.
I should add I resprayed my battery box with Permatex undercoat, and it looks great. If your just using foil, spray that on first to kill a little noise.
About $10 at "The Zone."

I used Dynamat on the floorboard. Then I put Dynaliner between that and the carpet. No more hot floorboards here. The noise reduction is incredible also.
