I have the same question. Tell me more about those seats? What did you look for exactly and will they fit in a 1975?

I used my original tracks after I replaced the rusted out "ears" with some bolt ons. Had to "modify" the bottom of the clamshell a little but it all fit.

I have most of the parts I need to assemble this motor but finding time to do it has proven to be a PITA. Got the Dart heads installed with the 1.6 rockers, set the Performer RPM intake on and set the new valve covers on and couldn't find my damn ARP studs I bought 2 mos. ago Then of course work calls I guess I'll install it all another day

That sure ain't gonna' be a "turd" when you're done!

I've got a Pete Jackson gear drive on my '72 (383 stroker) - love the way that thing sings!

Default Slowly we progressssss

slow progress, engine assembled with serpentine belt system and new AC compressor, new Alternator and new tensioner pulley. Currently I'm working on the new heater core then pull the motor, rebuild the Turbo 400 trans with shift kit + higher rpm stall convertor.

Default Working too much

Removed my original motor and trans and left them on the driveway due to some landscaping being done in the backyard, returned home and didn't immediately notice the empty spot in the driveway for a couple days. Yup, somebody took the motor and trans They needed a rebuild so I wasn't completely pissed but kinda surprised somebody backed into the driveway and helped themself After about a week I asked the contractors about the motor, had they seen anything etc ? The boss looked at me and said in broken english "you said you were getting rid of it so I just took it" OK, well, I'd like to have the transmission back at least ! Uh, we sold it

OK moving on, I'm currently working 12 hour nights, 14 in a row then 1 day off, start over. This will go on for 4 months Good news, $$, bad news, no time to work on Vette I finally got time to pick up my motor from the builder, been there for 3 mos Anyways, it looks AWESOME ! Dyno'd at 404hp

serpentine belt system came from a 1987 IROC Camaro. I sandblasted it and replaced the tensioner pulley.

Youre more of a man than me.
1st $$; beautiful turd.
2nd talent; nice work.
3rd, ida beat that fkn taco to a pulp if he took my engine and trans.......
That's just wrong and mostly cuz he flipped it. If he rebuilt it & put in his wifes car i may have a sense of humanity.

I work alot of overtime which translates to: I work hard, not smart
I'm self taught, I'm mechanically inclined enough to understand that the internet is your friend and perseverance will get you through most anything. This is my first Vette, I've done the same work to dozens of Chevy Novas, I can carry over what I learned from this turd to the next one and make it better faster. Time, is my enemy I work too hard and it takes several days off to build up the motivation to go outside and accomplish something. Having the motor sitting there, staring at me every day, sucks I would be happier leaving it at the shop so I wouldn't have to see it but, here we are. I have a fuel system to run, new trans cooler lines, electrical, and I want to install the fan motor for the AC before I install the engine. Just easier with the motor out. I do 98% of the work by myself, usually at weird hours, thats how I like to work

As far as the old motor goes, yeah, I would have liked to keep some parts but, its not going to break me financially or spiritually. I'm too old to carry grudges anymore, hopefully somebody got a great deal and its going to a great build
