I've had three sets of Hooker headers. Even the ones that I bought with Ceramic coating eventually flaked/peeled and rusted. I really like the fit of the headers but the coatings suck. I'm wrapping my headers in heat absorbing wrap from now on. It keeps the under hood temperatures down also.
I've had excellent luck with the Jet Hot Sterling ceramic coating. Had them on my 64 SS over 10 years and they still looked like the day the were installed.
My Vette headers were on my 80, Hooker Super Comps, they also have the Jet Hot Sterling. I had antifreeze splash on the passenger side from my overflow tank during an autocross. It dulled the finish and I can't get them to shine back up, but the ceramic is still intact. The driver side had brake fluid drip on it when my master cylinder started leaking. It also burned into the finish, but ceramic is still intact there too.
Really helps with underhood temps and stops rusting.
