my alternator belt for my 1975 Corvette: my assembly manual calls for #9433655 belt but my alternator is hitting my valve cover and I can't even get the belt on and there's no room for adjustment

i know i have the belt properly routed...i believe a belt longer (2"?) would give me the ability to install and tension the belt...anyone else had this problem? if so what belt number do you recommend...the belt i tried to use, #9433655 is 15 .44 x 53.07 in

the vendor i purchased from recommended D&D PowerDrive 15545 V Belt: 15.44 x 55.07in , which i think will work

The Gates web site calls for a;

Fan & Alt w/ AC - 7535 / 54 1/16"
Fan & Alt w/o AC - 7525 / 53 1/16"

Are your pulleys to include Alt pulley the correct size?
