1973 corvette temp sending unit
When testing sender with ohmeter I start out at 800 ohms and soon after starting engine it goes down to 0 and ends up at -1.5 ohms? I take it this means the unit is shot? Wanted to check before ordering a new one. Understand that it should read 600 ohms at 100 degrees and 85 ohms at 220 degrees.

Also know that if you change the sending unit out it will more than likely not read correctly with your gauge. If it doesn't don't panic, I made an adjustable resistor for the back of the gauge so you can balance the two together. https://willcoxcorvette.com/corvette...resistor-68-76
