This question may have been asked in the past, but is there a Company that sells "bolt on style" Fender flares for an early Corvette C3? Here is a Picture of such style flares on a Datsun Z... I like how they look. Raw and mean
I fully agree, a mean race look, its the way im going on my 69,
Here is a c3 that sold me on the look,
Best part yet is these bolt on flares with the little dimples where the screws go are also the cheapest, you can find them on ebay under "corvette flares"
The old orginal gm l88 flares had the screw dimples to help hold flare in place for glassing them in,
I really like the real racing look with the bolt on flares, but instead of bolts I used Dzus fittings (on a 914)! Quick on and off! I used to have trouble putting a few of the cars onto trailers too with the big super wide tires and flares (that 914, our C2and our C3) , so this direction would have been cool (if I was still trailering cars out to race still)!

That wasn't on a Corvette, but on a Porsche 914-V8 I had back in 1980/81. Before I sold the car, I took those glass ones off and welded on steel! The look was real racy but I crunched one side real bad! ! I remember I bought the very smallest dzus fittings instead of screws! I have pictures of that car up on Pelican, but not with those Dzus flares! I will have to look for a picture of those! On 914 World under a thread called Fender flares you can see a red flared car that has small head fasteners like I had! Except my flares were more like the Corvette ones we are talking about! ! For the receiving glass you drill one bigger hole between the two small pop rivet spring attachments! Then in the flare you have a number of chooses for Dzus head plates! That guy has a round style like I had! I epoxied the plates on back in the day, because the conventional Dzus plate with two holes was to big for the mounting surface!
I cant get Tiny pics to load pictures or I would put that guys red 914 up , but that site opens pretty quickly! I had 12 inch wide rubbee on 11 inch RSR Fuchs caused real problems on my old rail trailer!
One of our C3s is uniquely flared! But not in this style! We screwed a bent to the radius of the wheel opening a steel plate to the stock fender opening underneath and then glassed blended from the body into the steel flat flare! The car is heavy sprung, and we used to run 335/17s in the back! When autocrossing! My C2 has glassed on Thumpers! But I like this look we are talking about! Check out that red 914!
I havent done this to a Corvette yet! If I beat you guys to it, then I will post up a picture! My C3 driver, I haven't decided to flare it yet. But am tempted!
Let me pull up the Dzus sizes!

Since it was a corvette forum thought you meant it was a vette, My bad,
i have done steel flares and worked on a wide body 914 in the 80s, oh well,
I have seen these Bolt on flares for Corvettes, but didn't know anyone still sold them! But check out the Dzus on that red 914 on that site! They are about the same size as a very broad head screw! The ease to get to your Brakes and suspension would be awesome! Plus the cool factor in front of everyone! I am going to get some of those flares just in case I change our C3 Blue car, or flare my Burgandy C3.
The Blue car plate flares has held up great! The steel is smooth, so occasionally the tire has hit that, but it is so solidly screwed to the original fender and the plate is 3/8, so the glass hasn't fractured! I have pictures of that car that I can transfer because I am having problems lately loading, to show a our different way of making flares, but not as race as Dzus fitted bolt ons!
dusty! But you can see the back of the right side flare on my C3

The orginal gm l88 flares had locating tabs and screw dimples for glassed in installation, the tabs of course were cut off,
Countless companies and hobbyists popped their own molds, some gave the flares a full return or lip others restyled them all together, of course some made their l88 style flares from scratch,
The cat selling the cheap l88s on ebay is using what appears to be a gm l88 flare, they have the tell tale screw dimples,
i hit him up a while back he uses good materials,
Keep in mind even a rear l88 flare only has about 5 to 10 bucks worth of materials, the rest of the cost is labor so the guys trying to get 600, 800 and more for these flares are just greedy looking for a sucker,
Why dont These Tuners especially build a bolt on for the C3 as they do for the red Datsun Z ?? The Datsun Z is a very rare car, so it cant be the numbers of vehicles... The first Picture of the White 911 has the quick fasteners so you can take them off if the car doesnt fit on the Trailer or for Service... I would be totally happy with a purpose build bolt on like for the red Datsun... I would paint it in my cars Color and then wide as can be BBS RS rims... Of course I still have to save a Little for the wheels, LOL! But that would look nice to me!
There is still a Company making Mulholland Drive Road Racing type mods for Datsuns! I helped my neighbor to source those pieces!
It is cool a lot of us like this pure race look! I think it is just cool to have functional (not just for show) mods!
I still havent looked up or for these type of flares! It would not be impossible to take a hole saw around to the perimeter of some regular flares and glass in screw or Dzus platforms, but not easy and that would be very time consuming!
I share time with the Corvette family with spending time with our Porsches in that world! When I see Dzus flares and fenders, 10k rpms tachs, battery cutoffs, tow hoops, gusseting, roll cages, etc those are the first cars I check out! Then I go look at all of the cute and pretty ones next!

Well I decided yesterday that this is the route I would go. I bought a set off ebay and the guy gave me a great price. This will be my winter project installing them, hopefully.
