1978 l82 silver anniversary
Having a problem sometimes when I turn on air the engine will die and will not start until it sets about 1 hr. We have replaced the solenoid for the air conditioner and it still does it. Any other possible thoughts?

Probably need a little more info here. How long does it run before it dies?
I'm just throwing out some ideas...
1) Could the compressor be seized?
2) Is the engine overheating? When I rehooked up the compressor after a previous owner disconnected it along with an issue I had with the selector switch that had a vacuum leak, I noticed the engine was running really hot. This must have created an air pocket/bubble apparently with my radiator/cooling system that was only an issue when my a/c was engaged. I bled the cooling system while replicating the issue and then poof no problem anymore. Just need to fix my a/c system now though since the clutch won't engage/seems seized.
