Door handle fix?
About a year ago, I had my 75 Corvette towed to the shop I go to, to get the steering fixed. I got into the car from the drivers door, drove it onto the flat bed, and away the driver went to the shop. Somehow on the way there, something got disconnected and I could not open the drivers door.
The door now will open from the inside door handle but will not open from the outside door handle.
Any ideas on what happened or how to fix it?
You will need to remove the door panel, but when you do, you should have the below views of the inside of the door and where all of the rods are and how they interface with the door lock mechanism. If the rod is still attached, it may just be a matter of adjusting the rod to increase the amount of movement.
I believe I downloaded these pictures a while back from the Forum, so I can't recall who may have posted them, but I felt they would be useful for others to use for troubleshooting.
Let us know what you find...
Good luck... GUSTO
