1970 shift console plate (early vs. late)
Hi,
Does anyone have a picture of their shift console plate for an early 1970, automatic, manual, AC or no AC... I was looking on the site of one of the big Corvette parts supplier I saw the following description on the picture.
It says that the part below (25454) is correct for serial number 12000 and above for a '70. And for an early 1970 before 12000 to use a different part (25450) which is for a late '69, early '70.
The one in my car appears to be for a late '70, but my car is an early one in the range of 01700 - 01800 (Build Jan. 24, 1970).
The only difference I can tell is that the mount screws are either beside each fiber optic light, or they are located in the lower left-right corners of the plate.
If this is the case, I'm also wondering if there is a difference in the console housing as well between an early '70 and late '70.
Just curious if some other people have early '70's and what their plate looks like.
(I'm sure some will notice that my plate is a non-AC plate and that the 2 upper holes were filled in... It's because the car was converted to AC.)
Thanks,
