My new 1976 has t-topp that appear to have some canvas covering with an additional chrome trim. It looks nice and seems protective, however it is PEELING off and there is a sticky glue (that is failing).
Does anyone know if I should just peel it all off or try to repair it? It seems like I would need to clean off the glue (and residual dirt/bugs) before I re-glued it.
Since I'm new, I was hoping some of the kind folk here can point me in the right direction. Never had a c3 before and am looking forward to many fun rides!
Thanks,
Chairster

Can you post a picture? It should just be painted??
You see in this photo it is like a canvas "skin" has been glued to the original fiberglass top. I cleaned off the glue and I'm going to let it dry tonight. I'm going to try some industrial spray on glue tomorrow unless there are some other, better ideas on here tonight!

I have never seen a coating like that on a T Top, I would peel it off, and have them painted the color of the car. Can you take a photo a little farther back so the whole top is shown?
This is the other photo showing the whole thing. I have never seen it before. Until I know more of what I'm doing, I think I will re-glue and then winter project will be to peel it off and see what is lurking underneath.
Thanks for the input!

HI, I definitely cannot fold it. It's a fiberglass t-top, I hope original. My glue should be dried soon and I'l take it out to see if the glue holds!
