Default No Premium Fuel Here

Hey I'm in Central Texas. The fuel situation here really sucks. First we couldn't find gas because of a "perceived" shortage. Well now there is no premium or mid grade here. They are focusing on the fuel which is in higher demand. I get that.

Today my wife texted me and asked if she could run regular in her C6? No premium she said. The car has been dyno tuned to run on premium so my answer was no.

So I set out to find some octane booster. SOLD OUT the man at the auto parts store said. Well after a few more stops I located some. Filled her car with 87 octane and the octane boost.

Now I built my C3 engine to run on regular if ever needed. I'm running a 9.5 compression motor and I usually use mid grade. So this isn't affecting my C3 activities YET.

I realize that I am very fortunate to have not lost my home and possessions during Hurricane Harvey. I'm doing better than the people to the south of me who flooded and lost everything. So complaining about this is trivial in comparison.

Hurricane Harvey is going to disrupt our fuel supply for some time it seems. What is the fuel situation in your area friends?

I would not worry about it with those compression numbers.

$2.49.9 p/gal for cheapo as of yesterday. Prices went up the day after Harvey. No shortages.

Boy, the price sure goes up quick but never down quickly!

My mother and my mother in law both lost their houses to flooding in Southeast Texas. They are staying at my house in North Texas.

Having to use a bottle of octane booster seems like a minor problem to me... sorry.

Sorry I guess I overreacted a little; just a little sensitive right now. I did not read the whole post. I think fuel problems in Texas will soon be solved. We are paying a little more in North Texas, but all blends are currently available here.

No problem at all crawfish333.

I can't begin to imagine the things you and your family members have to deal with right now.

Praying for you and yours during this time of crisis.

Craig
