Help with the VIN
I need the help of the Corvette community with a question.
I own a 76 corvette . Somebody (my mechanic) told me that it was a matching Number. It's an L82 from what I see on the console near the lever.
the VIN is 1Z37L6S434523
The number on the engine block are 16S434523 then V05
can you confirm that this is a L82 and not a L48 with that? Is it really a matching number? I don't know where to run the Vin to have those kind of info.
sorry for my English . It's been a while since I haven't used it.
16S434523 - This IS the original engine that the car was built with, just not an L-82.
V05 - You're missing a few characters, it should look something like this V05??CKW or CKX or CLS.
V - Flint, MI assembly plant
05 - May
?? - Would be the date
CKW, CKX, CLS - 180hp, Auto/Manual/CA Car.
