What a silly question.
Maybe they want more power, more aftermarket support, less weight, better fuel economy, better reliability (debatable), smaller form factor, or maybe so they can lift the hood at car shows and get oohhhs/aaahhhhs.

It's like asking why someone would go to a hospital when they're sick instead of the local church and ask for a miracle.

I don’t know if it’s b.s. or not but a local speed shop said he doesn’t bother with Gen 1 stuff anymore. He’s busy enough with LSx engines that it’s not with his time and effort to set his equipment up to work on Gen 1. Maybe it’s different at bigger shops....IDK.

My my brother built a 680 rwhp TT LS for his Camaro in his garage. Says he has less than $10k into the engine. That was 4 years ago which means you could probably get 900rwhp for $10k in 2019.

Wow, those dashes look great. Where di you get the bezel that hold both the main and the console gauges?

I bought my 79 C3 with a 1994 LT1 swap in it. So when I started looking in to options to gain more power but still have a smooth reliable ride the LS1 kept coming up. The power I am getting from the LS1 cannot compare to how slow my LT1 was. Yes it was expensive but sure worth it.
