Problem with new ignition switch - too tight to engage
I bought a new ignition switch and installed the rod properly and re mounted it. The problem is that the new switch has springs that seem too new and tight. It will go through the positions but when I get to start it's too tight and won't engage all the way and activate the starter.
I'll go back to Napa tomorrow and get another one but is there anything that can be done to repair this?
Don't use wd40. I've never had a switch that did this.
The rod is moving freely back and forth?
Use a flat blade in the switch to check if it goes all the way forward and back. FYI, you can still get a new AC Delco switch from the dealer as I have just checked on that.

Yeah i tested it with a screwdriver and it goes all the way. The only problem is that from on to start it's a bit tight and needs more pressure than my igniting actuator rod can produce.
