I know it will hang out the back
I'm buying a frame from a 1975 doner car. about 30 miles from my house , My question is will it fit in the back of my pickup ? anybody haul a frame in a pickup ? I'm sure it will fit I just need to strap it in and put caution tape on correct ?

Not sure how far it will hang out just make sure to hang a red flag on the end.
This guy got pulled over for no red flag hanging off the end

My 78 chassis manual states the frame is 146 7/8 inches. So you got over 4 feet hanging out on a 8ft bed. Mark it well with red flags to avoid any hassles
"If any load projects out over the rear of a pickup truck by four feet or more, it must be marked. In addition, if a load projects further than four inches from the side of a truck bed, it must also be marked to ensure the safety of all drivers."

Fits much better on a auto hauler.
But if you do not have one available make sure its tied down well and red flags are on it. If you live in central Texas come pick up my trailer.

I really need a friend like you in my area. No room for a car hauler at my place and I would gladly pay for maintenance/tires if someone nearby would loan me a car hauler for taking my C3 out to autocross and stuff.

I put my 72 frame in the back of my 8' bed with no problems. I set it on cement blocks with a 2x4 on top of each cement block so it would clear the wheel wells. The frame is 12' long give or take and with the tailgate down the frame overhangs about 2'. Tie it down securely with a flag on the back and you will have no problems.
