I'm getting ready to order my intake manifold.
I'm going with the Edelbrock RPM Air Gap, which comes in several finishes.
I've had the natural finishes on intakes in the past but this time I want something that won't show the stains that the natural or satin finished intakes get over time.
I'm looking at the polished, which I've had before, the Endurashine, or black.
I'm just looking for the pro's and con's from anyone out there with these finishes before I pull the plug.
Thanks, Greg

I bought the Endurashine, i love it, if you like shiny this is for you.
Very nice engine bay,
Is it as easy to keep up and clean as they advertise with no polishing?
Edelbrock's tech people told me it's basically a bright silver powder coating with clear powder coating over the top.
Have you had any issues with the finish?

Interesting. Could that powerball work on stock aluminum intakes while still on the car? Not show quality cleaning but better?
A raw aluminum intake has a course finish. If you use the powerball on it, will most likely make a mess. Could shine it some, but thinking you would be unhappy with the result. The smoother the finish, the finer the shine.
Have heard if youre spiling gas on the endurashine enough it can yellow it dont know that for a fact
Polished manifold is easy to keep up no need to pull it off the car;A rag and any type of alum or chrome polish is all you need once or twice a year. If its a high quality polish job it stays looking good longer.
Did my entire engine, fuel and brake lines many yrs ago only touched it up 3x.

Mine is the rough non-polished intake. I hate to take it off just to get it cleaned though. But maybe its the only way. Some day down the road.

That is one of the things the Edelbrock tech told me as well. He said that spilled fuel or antifreeze "will" stain the finish of the Endurashine if left for any amount of time.
I do like when a vendor is completely honest.

I used Simplegreen on the engine cases for my show Harleys. Spray it on, scrub it with an old toothbrush and spray it off with either a garden hose sprayer on stream or a lightweight pressure washer. It will make the satin aluminum shine like new.
Just remember to wrap the carb with a large plastic bag.

No problem keeping it clean, i just wax it once in awhile but what i did find is it's NOT IMPERVIOUS TO GAS, imagine that on an intake manifold. i had some standing gas on it that I wasn't aware of and when i went to soak it up and clean it a strip of like plastic came off it ARGH! Just a lil spot down by the front bolt but it turned a dark color! Not that noticeable. I also bought the Endurashine water pump which i've had no problem with.
Raw aluminum cleans up really nice. I used Meguiar's Mag Wheel cleaner in the gray bottle. Spray it on, let it set until almost dry, spray it again and scrub with a still brush. Rinse with water. Looks like it just came out of the box.
