A trip to the wrecking yard

I was a starting out mechanic at a Chevy dealer in the 60's. Back then our dealership was "allotted" about 5 Corvettes a yea - there was a waiting list. And yes they did more running into things than getting hit.
About half of them hit something within a year, something about the long C3 front end.
One in particular: a '69 coupe, I had it all gassed up and ready to go, I changed the plates, salesman handed him the keys - it wasn't 20 minutes later I headed out with the wrecker.
Sad day.

When I moved here to Jax Fl NE corner of the state, there were many Corvette junkyard operations 3 that I know of within easy drive....and one just across the shopping highway from my burb......I don't think any of them are left in operation.....

Just another Corvette guy
Today every single one of them would be listed on craigslist as a restorable project for $20K plus.....and they would sell.

Those pictures above don't look like Lincoln, as I have both black and whites and color pictures of their yard! I had to go look, because at first I thought it was also. I also do have that picture somewhere to!
There have been some pieces made to add a split to the later one piece windows and that also became the basis for converting a 63 back that had been changed to a one piece windshield!

Found this on the web. Neat photo of an old bone yard. Anyone wanna take a guess what year it was taken? If you look close, there are a few C-3 s on the left. Reminds me of when I would take trips to the wrecking yard with the old man. He would be hunting for old Ford parts that would work on his British cars. Not my thing. I just enjoyed looking at the old American muscle cars, hoping to find a souvenir like a shift **** or an emblem. Dreaming of the day I would have cool car.
