Anyone looking for a Mako project ?
https://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/d/196...318177638.html
But at the moment its kind of just a pile of a custom project, bring a truck,
He might have double his asking price in it but its tough to sell a project this tore down for top dollar,
Bats,
Is that the BM version nose? (It is according to the ad). I like the other style that does not have the deep recesses/pockets in the nose but just some body accents. Would the flatter one be a Silva version?
I still like the mako body. If he was more reasonable I might think about buying it and store it for the future. 16k is just way too much. He will be holding that or some time.

It has the birdbath hood dips,
This is the kit i had, sold my rear to a guy with half a mako,
The refined version you are thinking of is bohannon,
I like some of bohannons mods but flip flop, seems without the birdbaths somethings missing,
The seller has later firebird tail lights normally people used 68 69 firebird lights or just stock round ones,
Motion had a odd looking to me tail light treatment they sold,
Many of the silva cars seemed to have only two stock tail lights,
I knew you would know.
I like the Bohannon nose a little better but truth is, they all look pretty nice. Just like these bodies. I have seen several different rears in terms of length. I have seen longer and shorter rears. I like the 67/68 f-bird lights better than the 69. The 70s type this seller has might look ok but its hard to picture. If used they might look cool upside down. In my fantasy of building one of these I always thought of doing the 67ish Corvette 6 taillight treatment.
He has lots of parts. Like the slotted rims. And it looks like he has some nice work in the frame. But it is almost a full on project.

I have 68, 74, 82 firebird lights, lol
The 6 small round look very good on a mako,
I was a 30 plus year mako fan tried to do the first one on an 80 about 15 years ago, got super sick sold basically everything i had project yardart wise,
got better bought another mako kit, then the 69 but strated getting add ocd and liking road race themed cars...
Hum,
Lol, makos saw tracks too....
Silva did a short tail and door treatments where the door cuts into the rear wheel well. Or however one wants to describe that,
I find the short tailed makos look too short in the butt to my eyes, they also require frame and i believe tank mods,
My plan for many years was this,
When i get to the clip the mako is almost ready to install so i will still run it, time will tell for how long, but its a cool old school custom piece,
Side note the old camaro hood vents fit the top of the mako cake pan scoop.
I fully admit if i go road race im a poser as it likely will never see a track,
I guess im getting old or something, lol
I like all the old school stuff these days,
The modern restro mod stuff is great but doesnt get me hyped up like it does for some,
If i had the space and money i would have two c3s, one tasty custom one road race, both old school,
Who knows i might score a cheap nice 74 to 77 one day for tina,
