Default Removing yoke from brake booster?

Hi all,

Anybody know how to remove the yoke on the bottom of the brake booster? I was able to remove the booster pretty easily, but the new one only has a threaded rod and a nut. Either I need to get the old one off or get a new one. Anybody run into this? I can't remove the old one for the life of me, making me believe it isn't removable. Or, just extremely rusted.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Danny

Have you tried heating the yoke with a hand-held propane torch.....then unscrew it.....(wear gloves!).......

Hi guys. Thanks for the responses. I was able to get it removed yesterday! I do wish I would have seen this before because I feel like an idiot, but I didn't realize that only the very top, u-shaped part comes off. I thought the part where you marked "heat here" was attached, so I was trying to twist that part off of the shaft! Lol. Anyways, we live in learn.

Bottom line, I got my new booster and master cylinder installed yesterday, bled the brakes and she's stopping on a dime now! Best they've felt. (I just can't get that damn brake light to go off. I thought all of this would fix that too. Oh well. Mabe time to change that distribution valve?)

Glad that you got it sorted out

Another forum member showed me a tool for centering the distribution block switch. Probably worth a shot before you remove it.

Oh yeah, I've seen that. The little pin type thing right? Where did you purchase it?
