Default RPO Code Z49 Canadian

I just got my letter from Vintage Vehicle Services for my 1971 corvette. Does anybody know anything about RPO Code Z49 (Canadian base equipment modifications)? I also have W84 (extra fuel for delivery). Thanks, Bill

Depending on what year your car is, it should include Speedo in KMH and Temp gauge in Celsius.

And a host of labels to refer to its Canadian origins such as a maple leaf with a blue background, tire pressure sticker and Unleaded Fuel in French.

But...it depends on year!

Probably the only modification on '71 C3s cars exported to Canada would be a higher ratio of antifreeze to water. Speedos in metric (KMs) were not required until 1976.

If your car was indeed exported to Canada by GM, you are fortunate because GM of Canada retained all the documents on cars sold in Canada. You will be able to order and get info on selling dealer, first owner, and listing of all options based on your VIN. In other words, you will have proof from GM what your car was born with.
