Default New Windshield - St.Louis area

So the title explains what I'm looking for, but also, I need some advice. is there anything I need to know about a replacement windshield on a 79? The car is almost all original with 47k miles. A raccoon got in the garage and knocked a board into the windshield, which shattered it. Any recommendations for a glass shop in the St.Louis area? What do I need to ask?

Are you wanting a date coded windshield or just a replacement?

Will, if you are looking for a Corvette specialist, let me know and I'll connect you with the St. Louis NCRS chapter for leads. (I grew up in Creve Coeur.)

Insurance is covering it, but I'm not necessarily worried about a date coded windshield(should I?). I really just want it done correctly. My dad purchased it new and sold it in the early 90s to bur a ZR1. I purchased it back last year. It's mostly original, but has had some parts(caliper or 2, radiator, radio) replaced with non original. I also need the a/c done, so anyone that could help in the st louis area would be great. I've had Corvettes for a long time, but they were all almost new. Thanks for any help!!

Check with one of the local glass shops- Safelite? Someone like that. Call your insurance agent for your daily driver and ask who they use. No idea who your Covette Insurance guy is, but unless it's a specialty company like Hagerty, I suspect they'd kick about having a shop that specializes in Corvettes replace it just because of the extra cost involved.
A date coded windshield may be on the list of things for NCRS Judging. If that's not your goal, then just being able to get a correct one for your car would do nicely. (My $.02)

Check with this guy. He has replaced my windshield on my daily driver and saved me a ton. One of the girls in the office has had hers replaced twice in the last year. He felt sorry for her and gave her a break on the second. Another person had a crack and he repaired rather than replaced. Seems to be an honest businessman.
