Got a Corvette book from my Mom for my birthday and wanted to share some of the pics in it ! Gonna start out with these and maybe add in a few from time to time ! Hope everyone will enjoy ! I think 13 Bats will like these !
Sorry guys I guess I should've put the name of the book and author up ! Here you go though and some new pictures too like the one born the same year as me !
Great pictures, your Mom is all right for the great present, when I was like 15, my Mom would bring me back a copy of Hot Rod magazine when she went food shopping. The first two pics, of the Mako Shark first appeared at the '65 New York Car Show that I went with my Dad and it left a lasting impression.

Your right , I think my moms pretty special!
My mom learned early on that the best way to keep me busy and quiet was to buy me Corvette models to build !
This book is a coffee table book and it's huge ! It's full of information and pictures of pristine corvettes ! On top of that there are about 20 pieces of magazine and newspaper clips that were in the book from whoever was the original owner ! Even though it was printed in 1989 it looks like I just went to the book store and bought it !
The Chevrolet Corvette 'SS' was an experimental magnesium-bodied car and set a New Lap Record at Sebring, Florida, in 1957. But success at Sebring for this stunning racer was unfortunately short lived. Although the SS was extremely fast for its day (top recorded speed of 183 mph), a suspension problem forced it to retire from the race after 23 laps in the Sebring 12-Hour race. Juan Manuel Fangio, the winner at Sebring in 1957, was impressed enough with the car to test the SS under practice conditions. The results was astonishing.
Our Corvette Club is named after the Corvette Super Sport.
