Power Steering Pump
A friend of mine who owns a 74 with a 454 asked me to help him fix a power steering leak. This was a car his wifes dad owned so there is some sentimental items also. It also seems they had it refurbished but the guy did a hack job. Gone is the air conditioning compressor and all the smog stuff including the pump. Well when I went to look athe the power steerin pump I found there was no way to even get the fill cap off the pump. Even moving the alternator did not allow it. So I really have two questions. Since the smog pump and air conditioner compressor is gone can I just move the alternator to the passenger side. Was there ever a set up from the factory like that. If not then what pump should I but. It looks like there are different types of reservoirs and I don’t want to order the wrong one. I strongly suspect the “refurbisher” did that already. Any help appreciated but the best would be a picture of the correct setup
