Married guy shop vs. Single guy shop
(Is it wrong for me to have this daydream?)
Tina my wife, we have been married about 12 years found our current 69,
When i was down and bout gave up,
Her background is a PhD in applied psychology, she used to work for the gov but i talked her into teaching, a big step down for her and what she was doing, so we had more time together,
Here she is on the vw trike,
She is more tank grrl than "hey, little lady"
She loves the car stuff and if i need a tool or part she is right there to make it happen, when i do a special club event she does all promotions and works the door,
She sold my old hovel of 46 years for more than our bat hotel we moved to thats about 6 plus times more sf,
I wouldnt have anything i now have if not for her,
not just car stuff but my whole life is hers....
I feel super badly for guys who have zero support or worse an anti supportive partner....

She`s also stopped me from selling off any of it, but instead, buying MORE! She`s helped me work on restoring the collection, cleaning, scraping, painting, wrenching.
Our first vintage gas pump was in the living room while the garage was being built. When I tried to move it out to the new garage..... she said "NO! It stays in the living room. If you want one for the garage, buy another one!"
Got a lot of pics of her in, under, & around working on cars, but this is my favorite.... ya gotta love a gal who can wet-sand with a smile!

After the Hotrod Power Tour covering over 3000 miles in a week with a '73 Corvette with 3.55 gears- no luggage rack or AC - I figured she was a keeper.
When I was struggling to get my Vette finished for the Hotrod Power Tour in 2016- she went out and bought a new Mustang California Special so we'd have a cool car to ride in ( OK - has a trunk AND AC!!!)
AND we actually got married 6/11/16 on stage at the kick off event of the Hotrod Power Tour in Louisiana!!!
I've owned C2s, C3s and a C4- the only thing that will change is she wants a C1!!!

Had I no family, I would have dumped a LOT of money into not only a larger and nicer shop, but probably another classic car or two as well.
But all things considered, I greatly prefer the way things are now.
My wife has supported me through every ridiculous thing that I put her through. We bought our current house largely in part because of the garage size and it had a place to store my race bike.

She has skipped vacations so that I had enough in the tire budget to win a championship in 2015. She fully encourages me on my current C3 project...
She is a keeper, for sure and she is badass in her own right.

And a car gal to boot!
Helps out around the garage..........
.........and drives a CTS-V 6-sp coupe.

The right one will see it makes you happy and back you period.
Bought a 73 many yrs ago for my estranged brother, when push came to shove"she wouldnt let him have it". Good gawd...she took everything he had about a year later anyways got other friends whose wives cant wait for them to kick off just to fire sale that stuff and go shopping.
They are just "doing time" meaning waiting to cash in meantime the guy convinces himself everythings cool cause they get along 10 min a week.

I'm saying if you were always a single guy.
Not saying dump your wife or I want to dump my wife she has tons of patience for my obsession. I am family first just like you guys!
I have single buddies who can do whatever they want and answer to no one. So I'm daydreaming if my situation were different, what would I do different.

But I wanted stability, wife, family, house, and the ton of crap that goes with it. When I met my wife, I KNEW she was the one, and we married a year later. If I`d never met her, I`d probably still be trucking!
