There should be two studs that go thorough the soft top pin holes. Then there are brackets that go over the studs and nuts that secure everything down. On the sides of the top there are brackets that have special shoulder bolts that bolt to the side of the deck lid. Third, if you have it a center hold in the deck lid that has a small stud that goes through it. I use a wing nut and washer on that as I'm not sure what was used originally. And of course the 3 front latches

Aside from brackets and nuts to tighten down, anything else (I do have the side bolts also)? Do you put anything between the top and deck lid to protect from scratching?

I don't put anything between my HT and the deck lid but my paint is crap so I don't care. There are plastic sheets you can put down but some have said they don't protect very much.

When I lived in a suburb and could get almost anywhere without exceeding 45 MPH it was top down all the time. A move to the country with higher speeds = top on most of the time.

Any of you have issues with the two studs that screw into the hardtop aligning with the holes in the deck lid so the hardtop? Mine seem to be slightly off making it difficult to easily secure the hardtop to the car - any suggestions?

You can loosen the screws at the base of the stud where it is
Held to the top.

MAN I may have jumped the gun on this , when I 1st got the 70 I quickly put the hard top away , but now you guys are making me think about bringing it back out , I don't even know what hardware I need to properly secure this thing , and if you refer to my pics earlier the top needs a good buffing and cleaning . Then re-installed and see what I'm missing.
I did purchase some hardware in Carlisle last year .
PIC 62 , I never seen these when I pulled the top off .

I too like the hard top on.
For the summer I go topless, after Halloween I put a top on. Just for nice days in the winter.
I have best of both worlds. I have painted hardtop and a black vinyl!

My bride teases that my 69 is my barbie because I can change the looks all I want! LOL!

For play, no top.
For aggressive look, painted top and rallys
For classic look, vinyl and RP02 hubcaps!
