I have tried all the methods I can think of to find this old thread but no luck so far.
Perhaps someone will remember. It involves a member re-doing the plastic turn signal grills on a 79. He purchased the Chrome grills from Amazon for around $70 bucks. They are made for the main grill on several years of, I think, Chevy pick-up trucks. He cut them up and glued them over the plastic turn signal grills. Looked really nice and was an inexpensive project.
Anybody recall seeing this thread. It may have been in the "What did You do to your corvette"
Yes those are the pics. It was my post in that thread. I was trying to locate the pics on my computer to send to the OP since photobucket screwed everyone over
Not taking away from that builder its stunning but have you considered if you want a custom grill a lot can happen with aluminum bar stock from home Depot,
I did that with my 66 and will for what ever grill my 69 gets,
Thanks guys the pictures showed up from the old post. I will save them every way possible.
Mr. 13 Bats I'm using the same material The Punisher used, I think. It is stainless not aluminum. It's not really cheap.
Mr. Punisher what brand of light bar is that and did you glue it on also?
I went through about 3 different manufacturers to find some that were good quality. These were about $75 and I had to make my own aluminum housings with plexiglas covers. I also installed a led turn signal relay which was located behind the map pocket on my '75 dash.
