Default Upgraded Radio

So I'm wanting to keep the inside of my 77 looking close to original or at least done with GM parts. After looking at the custom audio route I remembered I have an original tape player from an 80's GM square body truck that I believe still works and I've seen some folks add an auxiliary input to these radios. My question is, is there enough room in the dash for such a large radio?

Wow, must be lighter than air to float up to the ceiling like that.

If the ***** are the right distance apart and the center dial part is small enough to fit into the dash, the rest of the radio will most likely fit.....I think.

The depth is the issue. Remove the passenger side panel and measure. I was in the same boat last year and ended up getting a RetroSound because the radio I had was too long. Bonus is the RetroSound is about 1/5th the weight.

My 77 8 track measures 7 3/4" deep, 3 3/8" high. There is a mounting offset on the front area, hard to see it on your radio.
Hope this helps,
