1971 LT-1 Won't Start--Electrical Questions
Can't get the TI system to start.
1. Cleaned all the body grounds and reattached.
2. battery fully charged- 12 volts
3. 12 volts at the starter
4. 12 volts at the red wire on the horn relay
5. 12 volts at the alternator
Checked the coil--tests good. But with ignition switch on voltage at the coil--testing from the + to - side of the coil. Should this read 12 volts with the ignition on? Mine reads zero.
Where do I go now?
Thanks. Nothing more frustrating than electrical problems

Check the 10ga pink wire at the firewall- that one powers the TI. That connects to the resistor wire. The one that shows "Engine Harness to Solenoid" is the one that goes to the starter outboard terminal.

Over the years I've had to clean the contacts on the plug that connects the harness to the amplifier. It never looked like it was corroded, however it did cause intermittent ignition issues.

Also check the amplifier harness that connects to the main Ti harness. Check for a good unstrained attachment. They can become loose if not secured properly.
