So I'm trying to find a super portable tool set (Think one compact case) that has a large selection of sockets, wrenches, and whatever screw-drivers (Hex wrenches being prefered to have, but not strictly necessary) I need for working on my '75.
It looks pretty excellent and easy to keep organized, but I'm wondering if any of you more-seasoned guys have any better solutions? I feel like that one wastes a lot of space because I have 0 use for metric sockets and wrenches.
(I already have every Craftsman tool imaginable in my tool-bench, but I'm specifically looking for something that I can just easily move around when I'm too lazy to walk to the cabinet)
I did something similar. I wanted a small tool bag with only the tools I needed to keep in my car all the time. I went cheap, since these aren't tools I would use daily. So I went the Harbor Freight route. Sae sockets, wrenches, pliers and a few screw drivers. Put them in a cheap tool bag. The sockets are in a small case. Less than $65 for all.
I also went with a tool bag. Went a little better than harbor freight on the tools but not much. Put in the bag tools specific to the corvette, and keep it the car.
Also lengths of wire connectors fuses etc.
I like those Crescent tool sets; we have a few at work, and get used quite a bit repairing a wide variety of things on the fly. I run a golf course, so it could be anything from a greensmower to an ice machine in the grille room.
Usually have everything I could need, except for a pipe wrench, hammer, or vice grips. The tools except the screwdrivers are of pretty high quality; the case doors and latches come apart easily though.

All this stuff plus one long plug wire, a rotor and dizzy cap.
Has a full set of 1/4 and 3/8 sockets, wrenches, metric and regular.
Fuses, duck tape, pliers, not sure what the claw hammer would be of help tho.
Also jumper cables.
In 42 years of owning the car, i have never used any of the stuff

the hammer would be good for tapping on the starter if the solenoid gets stuck. I would try the handle first then maybe put some tape on the head. Its for tapping not banging the crap out of it
