spare tire light

I'm getting ready to put the rear bumper back on my 77 and replaced the license plate light and the spare tire light .I turned all the lights on to make sure every thing is working but I do not know what turns the spare tire light on and I don't see it in the owners manual. So what turns the spare tire light on?

It should come on with the interior lights, when you open the door.

or, when you rotate the **** to turn the interior lights on, it should come on then too.

Spare tire light? First time I've heard of that. Where is it?
