Default 1968 Shifter Levers

I'm working on setting up my shifter and have questions about levers. I don't think I have a set correct for 68. But I'm having a hard time finding images. There's plenty of pictures of 68 and later. Here's pictures of what I have. I think I have 3 reverse lever and one selector lever.

Can anyone identify these?

From what I remember, the 68 used the same levers and rods as the 64-67.

The only lever that looks like it might be a 68, is the one second from the left, but it could also be a 69-74 1-2 & 3-4 lever. The third from the left might be a 69-74 reverse lever. The ones on the far left and far right, I don't recognize at all.

The levers below are 64-67 levers, taken from Long Island Corvette's website, but they should be that same on 68's.

The 1-2 lever.

3-4 lever.

Reverse

Your best bet, if you're not sure what you have, is to just buy a new linkage kit. They cost about $75 and include all of the rods, levers, pins, pivots, etc, that you need to mate your shifter to your trans.

Could I use a muncie shifter and rods with Hurst arms like those above with no issue?

Assuming you have a Muncie transmission...

'69 and up tranny style. Not compatible with '68 pieces. Gotta go one way or the other. Get '69 shifter and linkage OR....

Go find the '68 and down tranny, or the '68 and down internal lever/cover pieces and build tranny and shifter like a '68.

Be sure you have a 5 hole casting tailpiece where you mount the shifter. 1970 and up 3 hole style tail piece will not bolt up to earlier shifter mounts.

I believe this to be the right tail piece. The transmission was a dated 68 transmission. I believe I've got a 68 shifter and rods too. so I guess I need to find 68 levers. Are the pictures above correct for 68 or are they solely midyear?

The shafts leaving the side cover are "bolt on" style like a '69 and up. A '68 Tranny should have "stud and nut" retainer style to mount the shifter levers. The linkage levers needs to match the shifter shaft style as they are not interchangeable.

The tail housing looks to be fine.

I bought this kit from ZIP, new rods and levers and stuff, for my 68 M21. They have some pictures on the site that might help.

That picture does like a '68 tranny. Your post #4 showed a later design side cover setup.

It looks harder to tell but I think my middle two linkages are right for the car then?

the second wouldwork for a 1- or 3-4 shifter. It looks like a mid year lever. the third one would work for reverse as it looks canted correctly and has the hole for the back up shift lever.

Personally I would look for a complete set of mid years or the correct 68 ones. Try putting a want add in the forsale section or looking on ebay

Yeah I've got the want ad put in the parts section already. The arm is stamped 3 to 4 so it looks like I need to find a 1 to two.

Default Reverse.

So it definitely looks like that reverse piece is different than what I have to. Those are good pictures and I appreciate the help. At least now I know what I'm looking for.

Default Bought 1

Bought the one on the right on eBay. So is there essentially a 68 only lever? Or am i supposed to be looking for midyear levers with a 1-2 and 3-4?
