Hood support length ?

Hood support length ?
Do you know if a hood support for a 72-73 fully deployed is shorter than one for a 68-71 ??
I am fitting a non factory hood on my 69 with a 69 support, and this support is too long, as the pivot point location on the hood is lower.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

The site I checked showed different supports: 68....69-71.....72-73.....etc.....You need a different one (or, can you shorten the one you have?),
but it depends on the year of the hood also.....kind of a "mix n match".

Yes that's right ! The one I thought of was the 72-73, scissor action like.
And shortening the original is a no go as the geometry will be different.
The hood is the short one, just the fixation points for the support being situated lower.
