On my 77 the stem was held on with a very small screw ,you will need a screwdriver that is for the small screws on the arms of glasses .It is right on the outer tip as you're looking at the clock.

The stem is held in place by the pressed on (setting) gear. The only way to remove the stem from the clock is to drive the stem out of the gear from the backside. When you do this be careful not to lose the spring that is behind the gear, you'll need this when you press drive the gear back on. I've probably got a stem here if you need one (or the gear). If you need a picture of this message me at service@Willcoxcorvette.com and I'll post one here for you.

Sparky77 thanks, but apparently, somebody before I became owner of the Vette broke the **** and its impossible to get to the screw. I'm going to cut it or try something else, I already ordered a new stem and **** kit.
