Default 70 LS5 Head Gasket
I am restoring a 1970 big block to as original as I can. The block and heads are original based on numbers and dates, but the head gaskets has been replaced. I don't know if the replacement looks like an original or not. I have about a 1/4" X 1/2" of the head gasket that sticks out on both sides of the engine. Is this typical for an original head gasket?

For future reference, Joe Lucia on the NCRS Forum said the gasket showing is correct.
