Here's are few of the more note worthy cars that were sold at BG Thursday and Friday. 70 LT-1 $37K, 72 LT-1 convertible $44K, 72 454 convertible $56K

Thoughts on the hammer prices? I know not knowing what these cars have and don't have helps a lot.

The quality of Staluppi's cars seems to be all over the place. I don't know how we can tell what was a good deal or not.

although the 56K for the 72 454 in noteworthy, but again if two guys really wanted it, who knows if the hammer price really means anything.

He bought my 1963 1/2 Ford R code convertible 2 years ago at the Scottsdale BJ auction paid 127,000.00 then wonder what it will bring today. #703.1

He's an odd fellow, blows out almost the entire collection only to put another one very similar into place.

He says he's going to raise his standards for this "last" one. Tells me even he thinks some of the cars he's getting rid of are sub par.

That 60 eldo he has is one of my favorites, but even on the Velocity channel preview I noticed a monster body panel wave.

Wish I had that kind of dough to buy everything I had the slightest whim to own, must be great fun.

Frankly, I'm somewhat surprised by the results here. $37k for what appears to be a nice '70 LT-1 seems awfully low.
Was this not a numbers matching car? Not sure what I'm missing on this one. The '72 LT-1 fared a little better, did it have better documentation? Also, am I mistaken? Didn't all LT-1's come standard with a leather interior?
As for the '72 big block, maybe the extensive restoration helped drive that price so high.
Personally, I would have thought an LT-1 would command more dollars over a '72 big block. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but then again, I'm not there to see these cars in person.

I liked the $140k (154 with fees) for the white split window today... not even a fuelie or an air car, yikes.

NO interior was not part of the LT-1 option. Engine/M21/TI ignition & smog were the included options.

The 70 LT-1 that sold for 37K. Looked like it was bought by the guy who owns Pro Team. It'll be interesting to see how much he jacks the price up now...

From what I saw from the B-J preview, it looks like he lost money on the “Herbie” VW movie car when it sold this time.

HI guys,

I looked at all the cars that sold, as I was there later in the day.

The Lt-1 was nice condition and went too low, IMHO.

The big block car, was super clean paint was really nice and I recall it had good NCRS papers, and BJ, confirm the quality of the car and condition.

The other cars were ok but I felt the c3 steel bumper cars are still not getting the respect they deserve.

There was a 74 vert that was a good deal and a 6x vert. svra medallion racercar that went for 28k that was a really nice car and good build.

I have a 70 LS5 BB vert all org. so I was very interest in values for comparison.

The money has been going to the restomod cars which look like fun to build and play with.

LS3,
Did you happen to see a blue 69 L71 coupe go across the block? It was an unrestored original car, with non factory side pipes. Very nice car. I know it was consigned but I don't know if it sold or didn't reach the reserve or what the bidding reached.

It sold for 170,500.00 on Saturday. He got 40,000.00 more than I did.

Its been on Craigslist with an asking price of $99k which is ridiculous. Then a few weeks ago it was on eBay and didnt sell at $79k which is still too high but he is getting closer to a reasonable price. But at BJ you never know.

Thanks again,

Kenba,

Beautiful car you had there!! Was your car in that condition when you sold it to JS?

I didn't see this one yet (I'm watching them back via DDR), but I did see this nice '69 L71. It got decent money ($55k), but not as much as what was being asked here.

Quite a bit more, you can count on that. I'm sure the seller was disappointed.

That is one beautiful car you had there. Would have been hard to let that one go.
