Exhaust system and engine vibrations
*disclaimer* I’m a computer geek - not a whole lot of knowledge fixing cars here, but I can watch a YouTube video or read and repeat 😄
Anyways... so I’ve been working on my exhaust and there’s no flexibility in the exhaust piping from the manifold to the brace (semi mid car)
Shouldnt there be? I mean some flexibility? Or is it just built into the pipes themselves?

The mid hanger uses the resiliency of the reear transmission mount to control vibration. The std trans exhaust mid mount is sandwiched between the trans mount and the mounting flange on the transmission tail shaft extension housing. The auto trans has the hanger is designed to be mounted to the transmission body using the tail shaft extension bolts that mount the tail extension to the transmission body . It just looks like the pipes are hard mounted at the hanger. If the trans mount is bad it can affect dampening exhaust system vibration.
