Default 1975 Firewall/AC system

Does anyone have a picture of a restored 75 firewall? I'm about to take the deep dive on mine, and I'm sure there are things missings considering all the wiring mishaps I can see.

ALSO, I've been wanting to dig into my AC system, but my main source of info, my Dad, says I'll contaminate the system if I take it off/apart. Is this true? And if so, can it be fixed or must it be replaced? When you all worked on your AC systems (if you have) how did you go about it? Thanks!

Any reason not to trust your dad? The AC system can become contaminated if moisture is allowed to enter it. Go slowly. It's against the law to vent R-12 in to the atmosphere.

Take the car to any automotive AC shop and allow them to R&R the system.

No sir, I'm just always one to double or triple check anything before jumping into it! Thanks so much.

Posted this awhile back but still looking, any help would be greatly appreciated. Bubba hit my firewall pretty hard, and I want to make sure all the clips and other things hanging from it make it into the right spot!

Pick up an AIM for your year car. It will have everything you need in a diagram(s). Jerry

I just read about the C3 ac systems and today's gasses. C3's were made to use R-12. Today's R-134 is less dense and is prone to leak out from the seals. Not any fault of the system, just the way it is made. The article says it's common to have to recharge the C3's system twice or more per year.
