Default Rear crossmember bushing...

Hard to remove!! I was really looking forward to this being a quick and easy job, straighten the tabs and knock them out.
Not happening. Besides rust, would there be anything else preventing removal??
I'm keeping them wet with PBblaster this weekend and try again with a BFH tomorrow.

thx - Jim

Do you already have the cross member out? The bushings are stubborn but I have a press and they pushed out with a little pressure. If I didn't' have a press I would probably have rigged up something with a threaded rod with bolts and a flat piece of steel to draw them out.

My neighbor has a buddy with a 50 ton press. We took the crossmember to him and had both bushings out in 2 minutes. I need to get one.

I bought a cheap 20 ton press from Harbor Freight. Nothing fancy, it works good and will pay for itself. I've done the rear trailing arm bearings, cross member bushings, strut rod bushings, half shaft u-joints, and the driveshaft u-joints. Getting to work on the front suspension now.

My air hammer and a can of PB Blaster made short work of them.
